Our Editing Styles and Options

 We offer a choice of editing styles and preset packages designed to accommodate your requirements and budget or we can individually tailor a package especially for you. Details of these packages are shown on the home page and can also be selected from the contents column shown on the left of the page.

Pricing Guide for Packages  

Home Personal and Family options the price is based on the production and supply of a single DVD. Additional DVDs can be purchased for Just £5 each if ordered at the time of editing.

Business, Special Interest, Organisation and Club options are based on the quantity of DVDs being produced and the price guide is shown as unit price ie 1000 DVDs at a cost of £?.?? each.

 About our Editing

Editing requires both an artistic and technical skill it cannot be carried out automatically and depending on the editing style can involve a considerable amount of man-hours. For our basic editing, the time required is generally between 1.5 to 2 times the duration of the original video footage so 1 hour of original takes between 1.5 and 2 hours to edit. At the other end of the scale our corporate or production editing is up to 10 or more times ie 10 man-hours for each hour of original footage.

Basic Editing

Our basic editing involves monitoring the digital files copied from your original video tape footage,  as they are playing, removing poor quality footage, gaps, bad cuts ect. and adding effects and transition and digital enhancement if appropriate. The editing time required is generally between 1.5 to 2 times the duration of the original video footage. 

Standard Editing

Our standard editing involves pre-viewing the digital files selecting and rearranging the sound and picture clips in an appropriate way for you taking into account any specific requests for marital to be included or excluded, digitally enhancing to improve the picture and or sound quality, adding effects, transitions and music if required. The editing time required is generally between 3 to 4 times the duration of the original video footage. 

Creative Editing

Our creative editing involves pre-viewing the digital files selecting and rearranging the sound and picture clips in an appropriate way for you taking into account any specific requests for marital to be included or excluded, digitally enhancing to improve the picture and or sound quality, The pace and style of the program is created using carefully timed editing cuts, programmed animated transitions and overlays. Addition time is spent working with the background sound and music. The editing time required is generally between 4 to 6 times the duration of the original video footage. 

Corporate (Production) Editing

Our corporate editing involves pre-viewing the digital files, full creative editing to the clients requirements including animated title and end credit sequences. After the initial edit has been completed the edited material is reviewed any issues or possible improvements logged and re-edited, the sound is re-viewed and adjusted as appropriate. This first draft is then uploaded to the private zone password controlled page on our website or sent out by post as a draft DVD for the client to review and specify any adjustments or changes if required. The Final draft is produced and once final written authorisation has been received the DVD production run will commence. The editing time required is generally between 8 to 10 times the duration of the original video footage.
